I'll second that. The only thing I ever drive through is Starbucks, and that's only when I'm really desperate to stay awake.

Well honestly u cant hear i can only imagine a microphone hooked up about a foot from the car what kind of noise they pickup. I have a number of vehicles and it's alot easier just cut it off they're loud it's nothing to be ashamed of. I roll my window down sometimes at stop lights so i can hear it rattle off side of the other cars

I advanced the timing slightly in my S10, so it rattles even more at idle, in true old-Japanese-diesel fashion. This makes for fun conversations at drive-through.

I just shut it off before speaking now.

The handfull of times I have taken my car through a drive threw no one has said anything.

Off topic but fast food sucks. I love my usual lunch spot. I walk in, kill my phone, say high, grab some excellent home made mac salad and a drink. Sit down with the paper, 5 minutes later my usual sandwich appears on my table and I enjoy a peacefull 1/2 an hour reading the paper or talking to people I know. Best $10 I spend.

I always turn off my diesels at drive thrus. They get the order wrong enough as it is without being able to hear me. Its a minor thing.
