ANYWAY, the unit I just put in fixed the problem and comes with a three year warranty. Took me less than an hour to order it, have it delivered and installed.
SWEET!
Thanks for all the input!

of course we all value our time, and you only get older if you dont get out and stretch yourself now and then. I do it for the fun of it not to save 2 pennies to rub together, but each his own. I have one thats been working for 2 years and a spare in the trunk that I know works. just trying to give you options brother, glad it worked out for ya

Just kidding.
I'd do it for the two pennies, though.

See ya around!

sorry "stretch" was meant more figurative than literal, to be honest the PNP's are like crack once you get started, maybe it would be more responsible if I warned people away......

Hey Lutz, want me to take one of those amps off of your hands? I've tried to pull a few in the yards but the screws that hold them on are usually stripped out.

let me pull one for your specific car and I can test it on the drive home. Let me know your car's stats and I will keep an eye out.

I must be lucky, I get about 2 of 3 good. I was going to start pulling them and putting them on ebay but I can really only properly test the 14 pin ones from diesels so it narrows the market. besides I dont want to make a biz out of a hobby, that would take all of the fun out of it
