w123 wagon sls question.....

i looked at a wagon that had the sls converted to a standard suspension.....
is this a bad thing and does it affect resale value?
if so, how much would it cost to convert it back?

thanks for reading.....

Fair number of posts here on that topic. Few people think the conversion is good. Conversion back is probably only economic if you have a complete donor wagon. A new pump is around $1200.

I see a suspension conversion as a sign of neglect.

It would be very expenisve to rebuild the system using new parts.
Pump- $1200
Accumulators- $150x2
Struts- $400x2

I guess may be the question is if any of the SLS parts (except for the sls shocks) were not removed.

Prices quoted above are for new parts, and who pays that much for this stuff? {only the accumulators} You can almost always find SLS parts used, either here in the parts section or on ebay.
Heck, daw can find anything.
I would not be willing to buy a wagon with bypassed SLS, so I say yes, it hurts resale. And it is not at all a complicated system, so there is just no excuse for not having it functional.
I purchased a complete wagon SLS system off of Craigslist a while back for a reasonable price. I have 2 wagons so I'm hanging on to everything but the pump. Hitman already has that.......

yeah, what Jimmy said. I think I have 2 pumps, one valve (somewhere --- can't find it yet; lost in the move??), a hydraulic reservoir --- even comes with the dipstick.
