Anyone have a pinout for the lamp failure "relay"?
 

I'm planning to connect up my rear fog lights on my W126 but would like to wire them properly so that they are monitored by the bulb failure system. The US diagrams don't seem to have a complete pinout. Anyone have the euro diagrams?

I don't see one as such. Have to piece it together from the ETM -

connector 1
1 downstream of fuse 14 (high beam)
2 downstream of fuse 12 (low beam)
3 downstream of fuse 13 (high beam, also high beam indicator)
4 downstream of fuse 4 (low beam)
5 downstream of headlight light switch, fog light mode
6 downstream of fuse 11, right standing light mode
7 ground
8 downstream of fuse 9, headlight swith in park or headlight mode (also left standing light mode with key out?)
9 downstream of fuse 6, power for relay
11 to center brake light
13 downstream of NSS reverse mode (back-up lights)
14 downstream of N10 combination relay (turn signal flasher)
15 downstream of brake pedal switch (brake lights)
16 downstream of headlight switch, park or headlight mode (also lights on key out warning buzzer)

3 to right brake light
4 to left license plate light

Hmm, bummer. Guess the euro cars got a different control unit?

You use rear fog bulbs in the plural. There's only one in use depending on either which side of the car the driver is or which side of the road you're driving on. I don't know if both sockets are delivered live.

The rear fog light worked on my 91 SE and I'm pretty sure it worked on my 87 SDL too. I mean there was a bulb in the socket and it illuminated with the swtich.

The 124 ETM shows from 91 a rear fog bulb and illuminating switch but the solo rear fog bulb isn't wired into the warning system.

Ok. My 91 SDL doesn't have any wires or sockets for the rear fogs, on either side. The light switch doesn't even have a place to install a bulb for the indicator! I added the sockets and have them hooked up as brake lights for now, but come spring when I take the car out of storage I'll hook up the driver's side as a fog.

Coming home in a blizzard a couple years ago the only spot on my Jetta that wasn't completely covered in snow was the rear fog light. That sold me on the importance of having it.

I'll just replace the switch ;)

So I just did a little more looking into this, using the diagrams for a German market car. On those cars the pins used in the US for the rear side marker lights are used for the rear fog lamps.

Looks like I'll be adding a little wiring.
