709 brakes
Hi, is anyone familiar with 709 truck brakes (maybe 508's are the same) I have a leaky wheel cylinder, and went to have a look, but the drum wouldn't budge. I'm wondering if I have to undo the very big centre nut as well. I couldn't see any set screws securing the drum so I'm thinking it must be the big nut. Any advice most apreaciated.

Hi
I think you're in the wrong thread... but is it a cab-forward 709, or more a standard van body, like the 508? Are the brakes hydraulic, or an air-hydraulic combo? Front or back axle? Year? etc etc etc... ... ... Let us know! Giles |

PM forum member Kerry. He's owned one of those older MBZ cab-over vans and can probably get you squared away.

I've owned a 307 and a 409 but nothing as big as a 7XX. I also didn't pull the drums on mine so I'm not much help. There are a couple of European expedition camper forums with sub forums devoted to MB trucks like the 508's and 911's. Those guys would know the answers
