Dash cluster removal question

I plan on removing my cluster soon. On all of the DIY pages it doesn't mention the oil pressure gauge. Is this a plug type cable? Or do I unscrew it?

And a 13mm to hold the fitting on the back of the gauge to not stress the connection to the back of the gauge.

Remember to NOT start the engine with the cluster out.

Why do you not start the engine with the cluster out?

The oil line for the pressure gauge will be open and you'll get covered with engine oil.

Be sure to disconnect the bracket that holds the speedo cable in the engine compartment. Follow the cable down from where it comes through the fire wall. This will give a tad more room behind the cluster for disconnecting things. Often the bracket tie is missing because some wrench didn't replace it.

Just for "general priciple" disconnect the battery first, to prevent accidental shorting of the circuit board.

Just to clarify what Forced Induction said - this is not a "modern" sensor on the engine setup that then sends an electrical signal to the gauge. There is an oil line run from the engine to the gauge and the gauge is directly reading this pressure. If this line comes loose you've got oil at full pressure spewing out. Not a pretty sight.
