81 300D speedo changeout question

I'm getting ready to change the tranny oil and filter, and the cars speedo hasn't worked since we bought it almost 2 years ago. (I've been using my Garmin Forerunner wrist GPS, which I usually use for running, biking and hiking, when on long trips). I bought a new speedometer cable, and thought I'd replace it when I change the filter. Any tips or comments about how easy\tough it is to do this? I've looked on the DIY section, and can't seem to find any step-by-step on the procedure. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Lee

Remove the knee panel and push the cluster out from behind with your hand.
