I was thinking it was the motor home, but the first post sounds like he's not taking it this trip

That makes sense. I figured Jack would have referred to his motorized home as an "RV" rather than an "MH."

I'm pretty certain that Jack is driving is coupe (CD)....when he said MH, he must have been referring to his MB, right?

The suggestion about his wife helping him ....don't know if that meant she was reading the map or if he got to rest some while she drove.

Just PM'd my cell for when you get closer to your target.

I'm outside of Austin.

This string may be a great way to start a whole new type of service Network for us DIY Mercedes fanatics.

I belong to the Model A Ford Club, and we used to have a roster of who lived where and if they would be willing to assist club members on thier trips when in need. I'd be willing and able to help anyone in the Newton NJ, Sussex County area as needed. Just ask!

Rick

Any updates on the MH repair?

I do a lot of long distance driving, I'm always interested in 'road fixes'.

LOL! I could write a book on on-road diesel motorcoach repairs. Boats are fun there too, had fun yesterday running Lake Michigan in wind, 8'-12' waves, and 36degree water, ... you carry plenty of spares for a run like that.

What kind of motorhome is he running?

Jeff;

You are one crazy skipper! Were you fishing or just cruising?

made it....

Jack and his lovely wife have arrived safely in Memphis. It was my pleasure to meet yet another Forum member. Wish my driveway was bigger --- they could have parked in it for the night.

Oh, guys. Jack's 300CD is beautiful. I learned another interior color today ---- Quartz.

Hey Jack --- Once you get down to San Antonio and get the trunk unloaded and "things" installed properly, can you post a pic?

Thanks,

We are currently in the Dallas/FW area and
the Benz has taken the trip fantastic.....much
better than the Motorhome.
Aside from a few bulbs and a CCU that began
acting up, this ride has been sweet. My lovely
assistant won't even let me take a turn in the
coupe, and she loves driving the MH.

We have been running 70-75mph the whole way
and the coupe has not missed a beat.
(wish I could say the same for the motorhome)

In a day or two, we will be leaving on the last leg
of the trip to SanAntonio, just a few hundred miles
down the street.

Many thanks to all those who offered assistance
should I have needed it.
