Heh. I'm sure he would be, or possibly appalled at what we've done with it over the years.

That being said, I think he'd like what Subaru did with his design in the 2.5L turbocharged form, as seen in the STI cars. (I miss mine, but I don't miss the car payments!)

I'm definitely watching to see if and when they ever bring the diesel to the USA.

about the subbie diesel about a year ago they just laughed!! yeah the boxer makes some power, but only for 50k miles. then the rod bearings are toast.

if they cant make reliable turbo gas power, what will happen with their diesels?

My friend had a WRX that looked fun to drive. I didn't look really closely under the hood, but it didn't look like fun to change the spark plugs.

Yeah, the flat four engines in the subies do put the heads in CLOSE proximity to the frame rails...

Very fun to drive, though.
