Depends on the year and where they were sold. Almost none sold outside the USA and Canada were turbo. The 617 was only turbo on the 82-85 300D/CD/TD, 81-85 300TD and 78-85 300SD. Most 603 are turbo but the occasional non-turbo pops up.

Define the same. All the Garretts in these MB engine series are of the T3 family but they won't interchange between 617 (I don't know the varieties), 603.96, 603.970 and 603.971 without some component swapping. That's for physical attachment. There are differences particularly in compressor specs that differ as well.
I understand a KKK from the same model will bolt in place of a Garrett. Actros, how many more ways are you going to ask this quesion? If there's something you're trying to accomplish, come out and say it. Sixto 87 300D |

I just asking, just in case if my turbo fail (i know it wont but...) i know that my OM603 (form a 300SDL) has a turbo so i can swap it and save lots of $$$$

you can buy rebuild kits pretty cheap too. Instead of making waste out of an entire engine.
