W123 b&e

Trunk jammed shut by rear end collision. I have access to trunk via hole for the taillight. Try keys, in the latch, no dice, I reach in, move stuff around, can't open it up. Any B & E tricks known in this regard? Feel free to PM me rather than publish.

Andy

Remove your first kit, and reach in with a coat hanger duct-taped onto a broom handle. There is a pictorial detailing this on the forums.

If either of your tail lights are destroyed you can reach in and around, and manually open it up.

prybar is the hard way.

Hi-lift jack is the easy way... or you can put a small jack on top of the bumper and do it that way too.

I hate the though of someone using a prybar on an otherwise good w123 trunk. My PO did it and now I've got a swimming pool every time it rains

I agree, it really ticks me off when people ruin otherwise good parts to get to a small part they want. My local PNP has had a rash of cars pushed off of the stands and broken windshields. I guess its better there then the Walmart parking lot but these guys need to find a better hobby

If the trunk it jammed from a crash I doubt it is a "good" part anymore. Pry away!

I donr actually ever remember seeing a w123 trunk ruined in a crash in the PNP, generally it is the front if at all, most are not crashed and just seemed to have died of neglect or loss of interest

doesnt look like the coat hanger broom stick B&E will work if the lock is set to lock, looks like it is just for a stuck vacuum pod. is there a way to open a trunk if you dont have the key and it is set in the lock always position?
