"A minor accident like a 35 mph accident in a parking lot"... There's just SO many problems with that.

What kind of accidents does this guy get into that this 300 gets dubbed, "minor". He probably gets hit by trains or 100 MPH cars or something.

I hate to be riding with him when he got into a MAJOR accident. I guess it was minor because there were no fatalities . . . .

I've been watching that one and talking with the guy, if he's able to get more than $1500, good for him I guess.

It's basically a parts car unless you have a front-end donor, work for free, and don't mind a NJ car that has been in a moderate front-ender.

I might have gone $1000 if the dash weren't damaged.

He says "trust me." Yeah, right. Even without the front-end damage, replacing just the airbags will be an expensive job. . . and the dash needs to be "slightly fixed." Amazing, it should be in a junkyard.

I've got an 87 300D that was in a front ender. No popped airbag and it doesn't look nearly as bad, yet estimate to fix was over 5K.

35 MPH in a parking lot? That is flying.

He is one of those idiots that fly`s through the lot scaring little kids and chassing old lady`s in walkers.. I see these people all the time W/O any regard to other people.

Parking lots are dangerous places.

If that is the actual milage, then $1500.00 wouldn`t be bad. but what is one worth not wrecked? time it takes to source sheet metal parts, other plastic pieces and any thing mechanical like suspension, radiator etc... and get it painted. wheel alignment and any other unknowns.
still have a 15 yr old car, and end up with a salvage title.

DIY or pay someone to do the work is another factor also.

MY Friend, Trust me

Maybe it is the location ("in a parking lot") that affords it the status of "minor." Because, really, how much damage could you do in a parking lot?

Oh, that much . . .

I don't think that was a 35 MPH accident, more like 12 MPH and hitting something solid. Plus, most people think they actually hit going much faster than in reality...

Anything that sets of an airbag is not a "minor" accident.

The most outrageous part is that his reserve hasn't been met.

That car is almost totaled.

I'd like to see what he thinks a major accident is!
