Well if you were taking home $50k a year in July @$4 a gallon your still making that same money if you have your job except gas is @$2 a gallon.

So yeah more money in your pocket. I have an extra $50-$75 a week in my pocket. I can fill up the VW for less than $25. During the summer the SDL was costing me $75-$100 to fill. Once a week.

Sounds like its time for a nice Toyota station wagon for you.

The only issue I see is people having money to pay for nicer MB's. Loans are likely out of the question, and paying cash entirely up front is almost unheard of these days.
