New Grill Insert for W123

Okay, I have no clue what happened, but I wake up and there's a chip in the grill of my 300D. So, now I need a new grill insert (grey) with new whiskers (I've been wanting these.) I need factory parts in the blue and white box, how much is this gonna run? Is it easy to install??? Thanks in advance.

Randall,

The install is very easy, open your hood and have a look from behind the grill. Check fast lane for the parts. I looked in my IMPCO/PP catalog and the whole thing should cost less than $45.

There are six screws that hold the grille shell (the chrome surround) to the hood.

There is also a grille mounting kit available from MB (I got mine through PartsShop) that comes with all new mounting hardware for the chrome grille shell and the insert, in case any of your screws are rusted or missing. It's also got the rubber seal that goes between the grille shell and the hood, and a new emblem for the top center of the grille shell.

Thanks for all the input! Turns out these grills get brittle and crack over time, and they fall apart. The car needed a new grill and kit anyways! Thanks again.
