January 10 is the tentative date. Our plan is either to drive to Newcomb's Ranch as we did before, or meet there, then drive down to the Irvine Classic Center. A friend's shop is just nearby if parking is an issue at the Classic Center (which I doubt). Why? To meet the people behind the usernames and have fun! How much? Nothing. It's not a private club by any means. Somewhat like the Biodiesel GTG we had with Curtis last November 2005 if you remember that one. Only during that event diesel MB and VW owners came by.

I tried to invite people before to the Los Alamitos meet even if the thread was posted here and at the events section, only a few dropped by to say hi. I hope this one will be have a better turnout since it's mostly the older generation MB's (diesel/gas). It originally was a w123 GTG but owners of other chassis wanted to join, so we opened it up to basically anyone with an older MB. Newer ones can also join us, there's no problem there. Just don't leave us if we drive down somewhere

Some pics from the last GTG on the way up to Newcomb's Ranch

These images were taken last Feb 2007. 2008 was pretty much low on get togethers because of the fuel price increase, except for the Los Alamitos meet perhaps. There are local meets in SoCal on a regular basis but this one's definitely catered to the older MB owner crowd.

If our friend Tyler will be driving all the way from Kansas for this meet, that alone should make this all worthwhile! Right Tyler?

It would also be great to have another long distance driver, Turbobenz with his nice blue 300D (hopefully)! Perhaps even Colin?

Eh, sign me up - it should be worth the drive down.

Any caravans forming up? I'll be coming down 101 from the central coast.

Pat, I think you mean Irvine Mercedes Center then Newcomb's Ranch. Because if we do it the other way around The classic center might be closed

I might come up from San Diego. I'll commit on firm dates and specifics. Is this a family friendly thing, or will it be fun?

Ol' Turbo would be a worthy adversary, but I'm sure he's faster.
