SoCal meet, anyone? January 10, 2009
After the Los Alamitos SoCal meet last November 15th I realized I wanted to do a "Me and My Mercedes" kind of meet where us old Benz owners would meet up and get to know each other, while at the same time could also take the opportunity to shoot nice photos. I realize that after the Los Alamitos meet I should have taken shots of my friends and their cars, since I could not obviously take shots of everyone and their ride (it was 120+ cars).
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3065/...c6851106_b.jpg There's an ongoing thread over on the other board, Benzworld.org, under the W123 section started by my good friend P4olom: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w123-e-ce-d-cd-td/1408166-socal-diesel-123-old-merc-meet.html What do you guys think? I hope you don't mind me posting here since I know a lot of you guys visit this section more than the others. I don't have a tentative place and time in mind, but suggestions are welcome as always. |
Nobody is interested at all?
|
I answered in the affirmative on the link thread...as in
" if you'll let an old GEEZER with an Old GASSER join you, the Bluebird and I would really enjoy another GTG. Also I've been thinking of a So CAL Diesel and Classic Drive in and around northern LA County (read Mountains and canyons). Have some routes and a place to start too. If anyone is interested. Maybe in the Spring. |
Chadahar, thanks yes I know you're in. However I was also wondering if there are MShop members who are not on the other forum and would also like to join.
That would be a good idea, since last time we did a run on Newcomb's Ranch but that was two years ago maybe. This time I'll take it easy on those 25mph hairpin turns (we took them at 45:D) - good way to waste front tires! |
LOL. Old gasser reporting in.
I am game. Dont post much on BenzWhirled though. I gotta get some dings popped out though. And tinted windows. And fix the wheels. And fix my trim. And mount the body kit. And get tires for my new wheels. And .... |
You need to update this...

See my post in Benzworld... I think I've lost it my mind.:D
According to Benzworld, the meeting date is January 10th, and somewhere around the classic center in Irvine. |

Hell, if you do that, you would be my hero.... ;) Actually, I think we could get TurboBenz to come too. |
Asgeir is my mechanic friend who has an 88 300TE :)
We need more people, it's not exclusive to w123's. |
Starta new thread in the events and gathering sub-forum and make it a sticky.:)
|
I'm interested.. any more details? When/where/etc?
I'll probably be rockin' my '83 Frankenbenz (240D chassis & 4-speed manual, 300D turbodiesel, 380SEL differential - probably the only 240D you'll see doing 100 mph), and I'll see about rounding up some of the local Benzers (Ron, if you're reading this...) |

There's no date listed. Also, this seems like a Benzworld event, of which I'm not a member. If this is a general invitation for SoCal MB GTG, then please start inviting.
List the who, what, where, why and how much. Otherwise, please take your private club matters elsewhere. |
