Questions on the 83 300SD
Hello Everyone, i'm new to this forum and new to the Diesel world.
I just got me a 83MB 300SD Turbo for $200.00 Yes 200 DOLLARS. Runs great on the streets/Freeway, but have a question. When I step on the Gas pedal (pedal to the metal) it doesn't speed up fast as i want to (Very slow). when It gets to the 30mhs mile mark, thats where its starts going fast. Does anyone know what can be causing this issue? |

Turbo lag and dirty alda line out of intake.

Check air filter, primary and secondary fuel filter, Do a Valve adjustment. And your car will begin to fly!!!

I understand these cars start in second gear, that may be part of the explanation.

Sounds like too many issues to me....sell it to me for $400 and double your money!!!!
Just kidding. Do check for a stuck closed kickdown switch and also clean the banjo bolt on the rear of the intake. Also make sure the turbo switchover valve is working. Post pics of this $200 car...I want one also.
