A different transmission question
Is there any difference between a 1991 300e and a 1991 300d 2.5 transmission? TIA Don

At very least it will have a different torque converter and different valve body to accomodate the very different power curves and operating RPM.
I've asked this question before when I was considering buying a used gasser transmission to have freshened as a spare for my 2.5turbo, didn't get any definitive answers.

Pretty sure a 91 300E starts off in second under normal conditions. It's the most maddening feature in that vintage of gasser MBs.

Torque converter for a low-rpm turbodiesel is most likely a different stall speed than one for a gas engine. Not fact, just speculating.
