Was anyone here on I95 today?

I had a bit of fun with a silver 300SD today on I95 in CT. Anyone on the forum?

He tried to pass me but even with a somewhat clogged fuel filter the 603 owns the 617 above 70. Damn good try though.

I havn't had that much fun in awhile, usualy other W126's don't like to play.

I bet my 300E would take out your SDL easy.

Come by and you can try my friends soon to be chipped E300D. That would be a fun race.

The SDL is slow, anything can beat it.

Who's gonna Chip your buddies 300D?

I have driven a 98' with Rocketchip stage 1+. . .

LOTS of fun. too bad nice 98-99's are out of my price range.

the 603 is nice, needs a big VNT turbo. . .but stock is nice.

you should drive my 160HP/ 280 torque VW

I'm suprised it hasn't been put away for the winter yet. We have a foot of snow here! My dad put away his nice untouched by winter SD weeks ago....

Haha, good luck with this question. I tried once with a burgandy CLS55 AMG in the NW corner. We should all go to lime rock one day for the slowest race in the tracks history

I bet my E320 would take your 300E easily. If I could only find the keys... Heck, it feels almost as fast as the 500SL...

I thought you put away the SDL for the winter, and the transmission was on its last toenail.

It was put away, now its back out. POS VW blew off its exhuast, which I have been fixing all this week. Luckly no snow yet, but its close supposidly this Sunday. I prefer to have it put away before Thanksgiving, cut it real close this year!

The tranny is still holdings its own, I'm amazed at how tough these gear box's are!

Sunnytx had a 300SDL that she was parting with only 90k original miles. WHunter stripped it down and trailered the body home, but Sunny still had the drivetrain, I think...

May be worth a PM.

Hey dose Sunnytx still have the wire harness i really need it b/c part our wire harness in the car is fried and its causing a surge (not the type of surge that causes the battery to drain but makes light twitch)

Today I was on the freeway in the 300E cruising along at 75ish....when some jerk kid comes along in a "Escort ZX2 Sport"....gives me a look, cuts me off, and races past. So I catch up to him (easily) and he tries to race me....I kick it down to third, and it PULLS.....I rocket past him going 107mph, his jaw drops as I go by. I dusted him like nothing. WOW. It was awesome.

Oh, and I got 17.5 mpg on that drive. I need to stay out of it! Its too tempting!! The M103....serious power....wow. 6000rpm at 107mph in 3rd....wshew....talk about adrenaline! I slowed down right away though. I had to try it at least once!

I have no doubt that car can reach 130+.....it went real quick from 75 to 105+.....wshew.
