I don't think you can get them anymore. AFAIK H&R is sold out. So your only route is custom or cutting.

The H&R's that Tire rack has specify not for diesel models, and they don't show any for the SD.

Anyone know the difference?

I have heard the V8 springs can be used in the diesels.

380SE is the same car as the 300SD, should work.

Are there any issues after lowering a 300sd with the proper lowering springs? Can they be realigned with in specs?

The springs only lower a little over an inch so adjustment shouldn't be an issue. If it was 4" then it might be a problem.

Did you locate lowering springs for your 81 SD? if so which ones & are they installed yet? I heard there might be issues with rear camber adjustments if you lower the car

I dont know if its the same, but I have the rear of my w123 coupe lowered 2-1/2 inches. The alignment shop print out shows it is just barely out on one side and barely in on the other. I have used tires on it so I am waiting to see if the tire wear is unmanageable. I would say 1 inch lower will probably still be within spec

Do I understand this right? using the springs out of a 380SE will lower a 300SD? and if so by how much.

I know the SE and SD are the same body, but are the springs that much different?

Why would the engine type matter? Is there a big difference in the weight of the gas vs the diesel models of the 126s?
