Did you see any wear or damage to your old nozzles that was visible to the naked eye?
Thanks

there no physical damage that is visible, but there is a significant amount of discoloration of the injector tip and some carbon build up in on the tip that all is visible.

Dose an injector last 100k miles ????

AN injector will 'last' for much longer, but performance is lost way before that happens.

Theo, I found scoring on one or two of my nozzles

I think I'll try some new nozzles, and if that doesn't fix the shake, I'll conclude that it's due to the cylinder with low compression, and live with it.

I can't take another week like I just went through.

Thanks

Spray Nozzle Life
The stock Spray Nozzles have holes drilled in them as shown. On my car and several sets of Injectors I pulled at the JunK yard I found that most of them had those holes plugged solid with carbon.
I think that to get the Max life out of the Stock Spray Nozzles you would need to keep the Carbon From Building up inside of the holes.
Perodic Purges
Keeping the IP and Camshaft Timing within spec
Pulling the Injectors and having them tested and the Pop Pressures re-adjusted
Anything that you can think of that will help the Fuel burn cleaner and decrase the Carbon build up all helps increase the Spray Nozzle life.

Monark and Bosio Nozzles do not have those holes.

You'll need a microscope to see it.

Concerning the drilled holes (drilled in the skinny part; the Pintel) previously mentioned in my previously post; you can sometimes see the when the central Pintel hole is plugged and it is very easy to see if the cross drilled portion of the Pintel is plugged when the Pintle is pulled out.

However, the actual area were the Pintle seats in the Spray Nozzle Body is what you need magnification for. The Pintel seats somewhat similar to a Valve in the Cylinder head with a contact area on the Pintel and a Contact area inside of the body of the Spray nozzle. Both areas take a beating and it is amazing how many miles the can go before causing problems.

How do the monark nozzles compare in quality with the Bosio in your opinion?

Good question...I'd like to know as well.

Additionally, I'd be curious to know how many miles were on the orig's and if they were replaced with the orig brand, wouldn't that have made just as much a difference, or are the Monarks that much better to notice a significant difference?

Appreciated,

Andy
