Slide and clunk...

Here’s my problem…part of my driveway is on an incline, if I park nose-up overnight, the next day when I put the car on reverse to drive out and I step on the brakes, it feels like something “slides” on the right front end and then there’s a definite clunk that I can feel on the brake pedal.
At first it was only when I parked nose up; now I can feel the same slide-and-clunk when I park nose down.
I’ve raised the front end and tried to shake something loose but everything seems pretty solid. However I did make the following observations; there’s a clean section on the sway bar (approximately half an inch) next to the passenger side sway bar bushing like if it was rubbing and the rotor (on the same side) has worn down considerably faster than the rotor on the driver’s side as there’s a pronounced lip on it now – the driver’s side rotor does not have a lip. Oops, almost forgot…on the same clunking side, the tire is wearing out faster on the outside. These things may or may not be related but it's what I came up with.
I’ve taken the car to my indy but he can’t seem to duplicate the problem – Has anyone experienced the same problem or has an idea what could be causing this. Any help / suggestions are greatly appreciated…thanks!

Wheel bearing? I know you said you tried moving the tire, but even the *slightest* of movement could present a problem. Could also be the nut holding on the wheel, if it's too loose or too tight.

mbdieselwannabe - Thanks...however, the wheel is not making the "traditional" wheel bearing whine. Hhhmm...which nut are you referring to? One of the wheel lugs?

The nut that holds the wheel on. When you take the dust cap off, it's the one that is screwed down to the bearing, backed off a 1/3 of a turn and then the hex nut is torqued down.

Mine was overtightened and it took out my wheel bearing.
