Using om616 to power equipment
 

I know allot of people want to or have attempted to make Gensets out of an out of body om616/617.


I just made a Carpet Cleaning Machine out of a om616, and its a beast!
And running it on 100% Veg oil!

It really is a wonderful engine for any power-plant, be it car/machine.


I plan on doing the following to get the most out of this engine:

EGR delete

Valve Adjustment

New Injectors

Hottest glow plug's I can find


Anyone have experiance using these motors for things OTHER than there intended use?

Long lasting regular ( Bosch is usually suggested ) glow plugs with proper electricity getting to them is all you need... in cold weather be sure they stay on the FSM recommended time of 45 seconds to a minute....as they continue to get hotter during that time... the glow plug light circuit timing indicator and sensors can be faulty in old cars... the light is only a suggestion...
We would like to see lighter and close up pictures ... particularly on the attachment method and parts used to connect to other stuff... are you direct hooked to your genset or can you disconnect to start , warm up, or run other things like pumps and sprayers ?
