federal cali w123 question
 

I have now come across an 84 wagon and a sedan from 85 that have cali air cleaner setup but no trap thus not cali. was that air cleaner setup available on federals or were these mods. just curious.

I've never come across any info that suggests the Cali air filter was used on anything but the 1985 Cali models.

Do the vehicles you're looking at have the large heat shield between the battery and turbo?

Was the rest of the setup FED or was there just a trap bypass mod or FED conversion that kept the air cleaner?

If you run the VIN#s it will tell you if it was a CAL trap model originally.
