R-12 Freon - EPA Fugitive list
Ok - Our classic diesels have in the past, and some may still be using R-12....
At least, that's how I'm justifying (to myself) and hopefully to our forum moderators, who are wonderful people - the creation of this posting. Headline News for today featured a 'new' Government "Most Wanted List" - it's from the EPA, and actually kind of interesting. And for those of you that are now thinking I have to much spare time....You're wrong - I have very little work till after the first of the year, it's raining heavily and UPS hasn't delivered my box of miscellaneous 'fix up' stuff for my 1985 W126 300SD (another Diesel reference to justify posting)...which by the way, you gotta love the UPS on-line tracking-box should be here anytime now!! Maybe, hopefully.... Anyway, the listing of the 23 most wanted ( www.epa.gov/fugitives ) shows that 8 are California violations based, 6 are Florida violations based - More than half from 2 states...And then the Gentleman holding the #20 spot is asbestos related and from NYC area - So, after watching the Soprano's for several years - I'm going to avoid mentioning him, and take seriously the warning from the EPA, to "Not attempt to apprehend", as I'm sure he's been falsely accused and is a great person! What's really of interest is -- and by no means am I discounting the seriousness of R-12 and the ozone..... BUT: #'s 1 & 2 on the list are for R-12 violations. #'s 8 & 9 are for importing/selling auto's that violate emissions standards... AND then #21 on the list, is the dude responsible for the oxygen generators on ValuJet flt #592, that crashed in the Everglades killing 110 passengers and all of the crew. Honestly, and again, not making lite of EPA violations, as they are REAL and serious issues --- IMO is just seems kind of wrong that selling R-12, and cars that don't meet emissions standards, while serious, is viewed as more serious than someone causing and or contributing to, a major airline accident - The death issue alone is major, and then the negative impact on the Everglades due to fuel, oil etc...etc... Anyway -- found it interesting....Diesel on.

"which by the way, you gotta love the UPS on-line tracking-box should be here anytime now!!"
You can not trust that supposed tracking... I had a package which was showing ' scanned in " in San Antonio when it was still on the dock at Waco... They just lie and try to appease you in those cases... that online stuff is based on when stuff is SUPPOSED to arrive leave places... |

So it appears, I've made a bit of a fool of myself by actually 'believing and trusting', our news media ----- WOW, yet another disappointment in life, and this one cuts deep --- What's next, if we can't trust the Media??

Well that does it, the final disappointment!! Just, got back in and checked the 'spot' where our UPS dude leaves our stuff.....NOTHING! Checked the tracking system --- no update since yesterday, when it arrived at the facility in my city-but yet, it still says delivery on 12/11/08....that is of course, If it really arrived here? You think UPS and the News media are in cahoots, to throw us off track and forget about our packages? Diesel diesel diesel --- (weak attempt to justify "diesel discussion" - think the moderators are buying it?...did I mention our moderators are wonderful people?)
