Factory W123 oil pan skid plate
So I bought a factory style skid plate off of EBAY from a 300D to put on my 240TD. I saw right off that the engine was too low so I put in the new motor mounts I had already. That almost gave enough clearance so I bent the skid plate a bit and got it bolted up. There is only about 1/4" clearance between the oil pan and skid plate which is enough that it doesn't rub sitting still, but driving over a low spot at speed where the engine is pressed down, it will vibrate so I know it must be touching. Is there anyone here that has a skid plate on? How much clearance do you have?

My skid plate
I used to have a skid plate on my 300D but have removed it. There was half an inch or more clearance, as I recall.
See this thread for pictures. The last (8th) picture gives probably the best view. I never had any "vibration" as you describe. Jeremy
