Alternator Froze Up On Me Today

I suppose I am going to brave the cold tomorrow afternoon and swap the old one w/ m buddies old one. I put on of the Saab alternators in his ride. I am not brave enough to try that.

We will see how the swap goes.
If anyone has any advise, I am all ears.

Have a high protein breakfast, take lots of hand warming breaks, disconnect the battery first, let us know how it goes....

Why are you not brave enough to use a Saab Alternator? Its very easy, and gives some extra juice.....the stock alternator is w-e-a-k.

Today I am doing a coolant flush, thermostat replacement and transmission fluid/filter replacement on my 300E, and also a starter replacement on a W123. Outside temp: 22F

If I have time I might even get in a valve adjustment on one of my dad's SD's....

Now that, is a list of vehicle work!

You can take off those smilies and I would still have to agree with you.
Before age 10 I had spent 2 years in Germany and four in Cincinnati... that was enough of that kind of weather for me....

Its not all bad, having a garage + a propane heater helps a lot! And, when outside, nice big coat.

I turn on my 120,000btu/h diesel-fired heater, in 30minutes the garage is 70degrees. Problem solved.

I'm a southern wimp stuck in a "winter wonderland" (we WONDER why we're here in the WINTER).
