Back hatch window glass for 87 300TD
My son lost the rear hatch window glass in his 1987 300TD wagon. Apparently this window is hard to find...not readily available on the aftermarket....Phil is looking into it for me now....dealer wants $353 for the glass plus $99 for the seal.
Does anyone know if this glass is compatible with later W124 wagons or is it 87-specific? thanks! -gary

Darn, I have an extra w123 wagon hatch glass that I was going to offer up soon.
For what its worth, when I was looking for a replacement rear hatch 2 years ago, I came across a few w124 hatches listed on ebay. It might work out for you to buy a whole hatch from a junk yard if someone can find one for you.

Where are you located? There is a 1990 300TE at the Moss Landing Pick'n'Pull near Monterey, CA. When I last saw it a week ago the glass/tailgate was intact. I believe the glass is common to all W124 wagons, but I would have to double check the EPC to be 100% sure. -Steve

Hi Geodad,
The 88 300TE in the boneyard here in Memphis has the rear hatch with glass ....intact. I just took the rear wiper assembly and rear hatch card off on Saturday. And yes, I have shipped a rear hatch before......

Thanks for the offers of assistance, everyone.
My son and I drove up to Charlotte earlier this week and pulled a hatch from a 1988 300TE at the pull-a-part there. With glass intact, it was $35.00 so that seemed like the best deal.
