USe Bosch or Beru plugs. No need to get them at the dealer though, unless they are the only source local to you.

Got the new GP's...

Checked the relay and all the GP's...#1 was bad.

Installed all four

She started right up after about four seconds of cranking!

Thanks again!

Don't forget to check the fuse also in the relay box for the glowplugs. I had a similar problem and replaced the glow plug harness, and all glow plugs and in the end it was only the fuse. since im only a tinkerer and only learned what i know about my 81 240d on this forum here and diesel giant. good luck

if you can find it there are also directions on diesel giant on how to creat a cable and cascade all your glowplugs so if one burns out it will still start up since the GP relay system is in series.

I did not know they were wired in series! That makes no sense from an engineering perspective (especially from MB!)

I'll check into that. (diesel giant)

Although, with it wired that way from the factory you would know when you have a problem, as opposed to updating the system and not having an indication other than hard starting.
