I believe your engine has a reputation for glow plugs breaking off in the removal process. Given your comment about having limited tools, my recommendation would be to take it to an indie to have the glow plugs replaced. It does not sound as if you are prepared to deal with the consequences of a stuck plug.

The 606 is the engine with that issue (glow plugs getting stuck and breaking off). I don't think the 601-603 have the same problem. I didn't have any trouble when I did mine (603). I did get some carbon when I reamed the holes.

On that engine the Indy is going to remove the crossover. You will probably be looking at 3 hours labor + the cost of the glow plugs.

Anti-seize coatings are OK so long as you use very little (and wipe off most of that). Problems with poor conductivity occur when folks goop on a great big glob of anti-seize. All you need is a very thin coat to protect against electrolytic corrosion due to the dissimilar metals (steel/aluminum).

Dielectric grease also works as an anti-seize; in fact, almost anything is better than a bare metal-to-metal contact. If you are concerned, check the installation with an ohmmeter before buttoning up the engine.
