tips needed on changing motor mounts
Has any one changed their motor mounts recently?? i need some tips on a smooth motor mount change before i go in there and get covered in oil. i have all the tools ready to go sockets(metric), 9 in extension(is that long enough?) torque wrench, block of wood to lift engine, metal rod to line up holes. i heard that one of the bolts that hold down the mount to the chasis is hard to access from the top any ideas on that? I really value the opinions in this forum. and i have had much success thanks largely to you guys.
Thanks. Diesel On Karl |

Karl:
There was a very good thread on this subject a couple weeks ago, try to find it!. Basically, the hex socket screws that hold the mount to the frame are difficult to remove/replace becacuse you cannot see them -- they are actually under the "arm" that goes from the mount to the engine. Otherwise, not too bad. Peter

On the ones with limited room, it is actually easier and faster to take the whole mount bracket off the block and seperate the mount on the bench.
