Breather hose on 1982 TD
I have been travelling around with a JBWelded breather hose (from the valve cover to the top of the air filter - the flat one). I ordered a new one and it is midget-sized - like maybe 1/4 the length of the one on the car. I also got an elbow, but that doesn't help me on the length. I also got a weird tube that is kind of "j" shaped with a hard plastic inside and soft cusiony insulation outside. Can someone explain to me how all this fits together?

That is the old style breather tube. You will also need the rubber piece that fits the air/oil separator.

If I can find it, I probably have one of the old style. I upgraded mine to the flat one a few years ago. IIRC the old style was 3 or 4 pieces. New ones are not that expensive. I'd just get a new flat one.

Where do you find the flat one? I have not seen on on FastLane or the other on line sellers, except DieselGiant and Mercede$$ource.

Call Phil. I got mine from AutohauzAZ before I knew about this forum and Phil. Today, I'd support the forum.
