whining noise coming from differential

I have a 1985 300SD. I am noticing a whining noise on decelleration. I changed the gear oil with the recommended weight. The car only has 160K miles. The previous owner replaced a flex bushing.

Bearings go bad sometimes.
How do you know it is the Differential and not a Transmission or Rear Wheel Bearing?
