Im sure a local news station Tyler would be intersted in your story ,I played PR person one tour for a small band out of Boston ,The Arielle Silver band.Ariellesilver.com if you want to here some of her music. The trek took them from Boston ,thru my area in Houston ,all the way to California and back .It was completed in a diesel van they ran on veggie oil which they had converted.I searched newslink.com ,then pulled a local station for phone # enquirery ,then had an editor or story reporter contact me back .I believe they had 5 stories out of the cities they stopped in to report their venture and interview them for their up coming gigs. You might be able to get some notariety for ole turbo and win a lot of diesel fans in California.Good luck.

Honestly, I don't think it's newsworthy. Dozens of vintage MBs make long trips daily, not like that's nothing out of the ordinary as that's what they were built for.

Nobody covered Chris from Houston Biodiesel when he drove from Houston to Boston and back on homebrew.

Plus, they already wrote an article about tyler and his collection of cars, even tho the media like they are, made mistakes, still good press for us older MB owners.

I assume you'll be taking I-70 across Utah. If you have any interest in Western river running, particularly the Green River and the Colorado thru the Grand Canyon, the Powell Museum just off I-70 in Green River, Utah is well worth a stop. There's a river runner's bar in town with great burgers. (I can't remember it's name).

Man, I guess the animation brothers have spoken......
Often news pieces just have to be interesting to what they feel might be a target audience. You never know what might catch some producer's fancy......
After all, somebody [or two] thought enough about a certain couple of animations to include them rather prominently......

When fuel is 5 bucks a gallon again, I'm sure it'll be high on their list to produce articles about alternate fuel and hypermiling again.

Didn't the Don have an article written about his 300D too?

Happy new year Jimmy! Hope all is well!

The 87 Needs paint, but otherwise ok. The 86 needs to be driven more, just got the registration renewed last week.

I been itching for something new recently, been eyeing some used CDIs, but I'm concerned about what management would think of me driving a "Brand New Mercedes" to work....

Animation brothers, LOL.

Well, I think that mainstream local media likely wouldn't want to cover something that's pretty much commonplace. Maybe some niche publications would, but I don't think the Houston Chronicle wants to hear about my nearly 100 mi roundtrip trek today to take my buddy to the airport.

Y'kno, "I'm just sayin'..."

I agree on the lack of newsworthiness. I'm just driving, who cares, other than you guys of course.

Kerry:

I'm looking forward to Utah, and plan on stopping somewhere for lunch/ photos. Green River seems about the right length of time for a stop. I'm sure fish lake national forest will be nice also.

I guess there is no way to gauge what they find news worthy, and when. Based on some of the ridiculous stories I see sometimes, they should cover your trip out to the airport.

And more people should be "just sayin'"........
