Lifetime is Lifetime. When it wears out, bring it in and get a new one. Within reason of course. We can't be warranting them every other month.

I'd say you hit the nail directly on the head, they need to be warned of some potential problems, if they don't take heed, thats fine, maybe it will prove some old theories wrong or right, and maybe someone else will benefit from the discussion.

So no speedometer is kind of annoying at this point. Anyone have any ideas/plans on how to adapt the electric speedometer to the mechanical manual transmission? I was going to take apart the old auto's tailshaft and see if it is possible to swap it over to the manual trans, prolly not but worth a shot.

A few well placed magnets might do the trick?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do not think my SD has an ABS pick up?

My goal is to use the factory speedometer and odometer (electrical) with the trans from the 83 240D (mechanical).

I feel like you should be able to just swap in a mechanical 300D gauge, unless you're really intent on keeping the original speedo.
