Door Seals to Avoid...
Can anyone ID any replacement door seals to totally avoid?
Meyle (?) - any good? I purchased a replacement set on eB.. and they are all wistling while driving (not to mention they feel like crap material / almost like recycled Cambodian rubber...). The vendor will not tell me the exact brand as they came in unlabled plastic. No mention of Country of Origin either. . . These would be for a 1984 W123... Thank you in advance.

I think the general consensus is to only purchase them from the dealer.

It seems that only OEM seals really work well. Especially, window gaskets and seals. The extra cost for those makes absolute sense when you consider the other costs associated with window replacement.

A few years ago I replaced the front door seals on a girlfriend's W123. They were aftermarket seals from Performance products and they worked fine. I've also used their rear window & windshield seals on my car with good results. The sunroof seals are a different story; use ONLY OE rubber seals.
