I did one on a 450SLC over a year ago, it was still working when the car last came in a month or so ago. I've also seen 2 other SL's come in with the kit installed and working well. I'd say go for it, sure beats the chrysler servo system.

The 77 has the chrysler servo system installed and it the automatic climate control isnt 100% functional. I hope its a vacuum issue rather than an issue with the servo which the cheapest on the web ive seen for $450 and up and fails

I replaced my 77 300D servo with this kit about 20 months ago all is working fine, heat in winter, cool (not cold due to York compressor) in summer, vents work correctly. Took about 3 hrs to do job or a little more. Everything I needed was in kit, except for cork plugs for water hoses.

Your vac system needs to be working otherwise if you have leaks the blower wont come on untill theyre fixed.

the blower and the compressor is controlled by vacuum as well. electrically it could be fine but if you have vacuum problems they wont work
