interesting - we have the same philosophy in many ways - but at the rate I'm pouring money into my '95 I'll have to keep it for decades to get a decent ROI!
Guess I should have purchased a 123 instead!

My 123 and 126s both are very solid mechanically. Unfortunately, both have some rust problems. I hope I can get 400K out of mine, too.

Sc-hush!...............they are the best kept secret around. On a selfish note the more articles like this the more demand and the higher the price they will command. Just joking!
Personally, I became a MB/diesel believer a long time ago. You either choose to own an older diesel and do some repairs and maintenance from time to time which is still a lot cheaper than making payments on a new gas job that in the long run will be less reliable and short lived. I take an old diesel any day! As my grandmother use to say "it may be old but it is clean and payed for"
