That's the other thing we always tried to change, finding Euro bumpers was the "holy grail" though and buying them gray-market was big $$$$.

The correct European handbasket had a leather strap to keep the lid closed at high speed y'know.

I always told myself I didn't want euros, but now that I have them, I can never go back. Well, I kept my originals just in case somebody or I smash them on accident. I don't want to say I couldn't see with US spec headlights, but I couldn't see with US spec headlights like I can now.

I've got cupholders and h4 conversions. Does that get me a 1st class ticket?

I put Hellas on my CD, they shine just fine. They are "flat", don't know if you can tell in the pic, an even handsomer look than sealed beams.

The road lights up much better than the stock units on my SD.

The only way to go with the US look and retain the performance of the Euro lights, is to install any of the 7" H4 conversions discussed numerous times (Autopal, Hella, Bosch, Cibie, etc). There's something nice about being a purist, but there's something nicer about being a purist, and then some

However, I really like the look of the Euro lights in day light, with the city lights at dusk/dawn, and the obvious performance advantage at night over standard sealed beams. That's why I swapped them for the US DOT lights, which I still have, even if the US DOT light assemblies the car wore already had Hella H4 conversions.

I would have gone with new Euros, but the US lights I just put on were less than half the cost of the cheap Ebay Euros. The US lights included all the bulbs too.

I could convert to H4's and still be ahead, but I'm pretty happy with them as is for now.

I wanted to edit my post but you were too fast

Wanted to say, get new lenses for your Euros. I went thru that transition as well. My Euro lights were pitted. So I got a new set of lenses (Bosch), installed them and everything was much better. I recall, it was akin to having those brand new Hella/Bosch H4 round 7" conversions installed, since both were essentially new.

You have Bosch/Hella Euros before right? I hope they're not the aftermarket ones, I heard you can't get new lenses for the aftermarket units.

Yeah, but everything is falling apart on them. The main assemblies are fine, but the adjusters are broken, the inner grills are broken, the reflectors are dull (one I even coated with silver tape) and the lenses look frosted. I figured it wasn't worth trying to refurbish them.

I have brand new silverstar bulbs in them too. All the bulbs are brand new, even the city light bulbs. I'll trade all the bulbs and anything else that might be worth something to someone off them for an uncracked passenger side headlight door for my US lights if anyone is interested.

I thought of that and came to terms with it already.

My stereo is better than most so that makes up for it.

According to your guys' standards, I am going straight to hell, and not passing go....

I have Euros, and even those are modified.... I have HIDs in mine, and they have the correct beam cut.

(I am also going for cup holders.)

(Oh yes, there is a stereo in my car somewhere.)
