no brake lights on 115 300d
Howdy folks.
I've been doing some odd job stuff on a friends '76 115 chassis 300d - AC switch, valves, window switches etc. Well, the brake lights quit working and I can't find the problem. I don't think it's a fuse since all the instrument lights are working and I replaced all the fuses with copper ones. I hate hunting down electrical problems, and somebody really made a birds nest under the dash with wire cutters and electrical tape. I must have knocked something loose while I was in there, but it's such a mess down there that I can't see what's what. Any advice would be great. Maybe a can of fuel and a match will fix it... |
Can't remember for sure, but instrument lights & brake lights are probably on different circuits. Also I seem to remember when I was getting all my lights working initially, the Left & Right sides are on different fuses. I bet your problem is somewhere in that birds' nest (I had a similar one in the dash area of mine). Do other tail lights work (reverse lights/turn signals/running lights)? Might be time to work on the birds' nest. I do have a wiring schematic for the W115 as a .pdf but don't know how to post that here, you could PM me & I could send it.
