95 E300 Diesel High idle
so... after i took the last pictures on the beach, i came home rinsed my car off... got back in, started it... && it suddenly idled @ like 1100 or so vs the ~600 i'm used to... my first thought was OMFG i have a runaway.
but i watched for a second && it didn't move opened the hood... fiddled w/ the throttle a bit... went back to the norm... felt all cables & tracks in that region linked to similar parts everything felt okay... being in florida & 65 degrees... is there some odd reason my car felt like it needed to do so? anyone else have this happen?

Not with mine. I am guessing that the linkage may be dry. Perhaps somebody else with more experience can help you out.
The only thing weird that I've experienced with my E300D was a surging when going down a grade on the highway with the cruise control set. Like you, it was within a few days after I bought the car. I bumped up the speed setting one-mph and that took care of it. No problems in the 10K since.
