Rodbender on Ebay, description is a must read!

The way the seller tap dances around the fact that it uses a quart every tank is priceless. At least he tells you though...

I'll be amazed if someone actually bids $5K for it.

You mean the "USDA used car price"? A quart in 500miles is pretty good isn't it, ... for a 2-stroke. Either he's clueless, or clever. If it were $2000 less I'd be buying a new home for my 603.

W140's are overrated, IMHO of course. At least he disclosed the oil consumption problem in the ad...he really didn't have to.

I think that you over-estimate the average ebay buyer.

You guys see this?

"These were the gold standard, with double glazing on the windows, enough to stop a 22 caliber bullet."

I see that on the bmw forums all the time. There was the double pane glass in the 7 series, then there was the armored glass that was much different. I guess people see the double pane and think its ballistic.

Wasnt the 95 Cleared of the Rod Bending issue?

I messaged him and voiced my displeasure that a fellow Texan would have such a deceitful ad. Everybody ought to carpet bomb him on his highly inaccurate description.
That engine ain't making 500K. It ain't making 249K!!

IIRC the fix happened mid 95. I've seen 94s that only have a #21 head.

A new home AND another post-#14 head to have around!

A quart of oil every tank is not normal in...anything? That sounds awful.

Supposedly from VIN A270000. This one's A213184.

Someone nearby check the head casting number for my sanity.

He's pretty confident the oil light comes on when it's 2 quarts low
