Weak Heat: Monovalve or Something Else?

Blower's fine, engine temp is fine. But heat seems somewhat weak/anemic. Works consistently, but somehow not as hot as it should be.

I know a bad monovalve can account for intermittent heat or no heat. Can it account for slightly weak heat? Other possible causes?

Of course, after 17 years and 208K miles, I'm sure I'm due for a monovalve anyway...

Thanks!

You're dealing with the 124.128?

Has the cooling system ever had the "Citric Acid Flush" (with De-oiling prior)?

BUT,that sure sounds like the Mono-Valve.When it's working properly,it's
constantly opening and closing, rapidly, in response to the CCU commands
as a result of the cabin temperature sensor up by the Sunroof control.

Yes, it's the 124.128. Just replaced the monovalve on the 126.

No, never have done a citrus flush.

I had the same problem in the SDL The monovalve was ripped. I replaced it and everything is fine now.

I have the same problem in the '98 though, it's a duo-valve but still the same idea. The diaphram is ripped and it's letting water bypass the heater cores. I believe you can buy a mono-valve rebuilding kit. I'm not so lucky...

What's the opperating temperature supposed to be? I replaced my mono valve and blocked radiator, still cool. Temp now never gets above 190F. I put sensor for the gauge where the hose comes out of block around 4th glow plug. I guess maybe a flush is due, but not right now.
