Question 300 SD fuse layout

Does anyone have a picture of the sticker/chart that shows which fuses are which on a '79 300 SD turbo? If there ever was a sticker or anything on my fusebox, it is not there now, and I want to replace all the fuses with new ones, and make sure they are all the correct amperage. My owner's manual doesn't have this information either.

Thanks,
Mike

There is (was?) a paper insert in the fuse box showing the fuse layout of a 79 300SD. I still have mine and I'll copy and attach a scan of it if you still need it. It will take a few days because 'MBENZI #1 is "resting" after 360,000 miles in my driveway (the 79), while I am away with 'MBENZI #2 (the 91) on the road.

Talking 300 SD fuse layout

Thanks, sgrist, I would be MOST appreciative of a scan of that. I haven't been able to locate one yet, and I've been trying to hold out and not go to the MB dealer, as I know it will be grossly overpriced to order one from them.

Thanks again,
Mike

Hmmm....thanks TXBill. Guess I should look into it before writing off the MB dealer. It's been my experience that many dealers (not just MB dealers, to be fair) try to "nickle and dime" you to death on items like that, but I should give them the benefit of the doubt and check with them.

Happy Driving,
Mike

Exclamation

Hey, great idea, man! I'll get some sticker-paper tomorrow, and go to the MB dealer, if I have time.

Hey, what do you know about the ACC system? It's beginning to get cooler around here, and my heater is mysteriously not blowing warm. All the pushbuttons work, the fan changes speeds correctly and all the correct vents open/close, but no hot air. Just ambient temp. air. The air conditioning works, except for a coolant leak I need to track down, but I'm more worried about the heat, since winter is rapidly approaching.

Any of-the-cuff theories on what might be going wrong?

Thanks again,
Mike

Fuse card

I will try to remember to bring and scan the fuse card for you this week! Hang in there...
I live in Atlanta too, and can suggest where you may want to go to get your beast worked on. There are a few good independent shops around (I didn't say *inexpensive*) but hey...

Fuse card

If you e-mail me I'll send you the card scan as an attachment. I can't seem to attach it in a reply (keeps saying file is too big) from within this thread. Just click the e-mail button at the bottom of my message.
