Blower Life Expectancy
How long does an OEM blower typcially last? I replaced mine about 50,000 miles/5 years ago and now it's starting to squeak (one of the early warning signs of failure, if I remember correctly).
Also, can anything be done to eliminate the squeaking? Thanks!

Replacement parts often lack the quality of the original unless the "new" one came from Mercedes (and even then . . .) Even a replacement blower from the same manufacturer may not have been made to the same tight tolerances as Mercedes demanded of the original. So the original may last 20 years but the supposed OEM replacement only five.
The squeaking is caused by either the plastic fan rubbing on the case or a dry bushing or bearing. Sandpaper will fix the former and oil or grease the latter. "Some disassembly required." BTW, are we talking about the Civic or the Odyssey here?
