you do everything you usually do, except slower :-)

about -25C here in the am, the '87 starts fine. block heater helps, new battery helps a lot, run thin oil (5w40 lubromoly). i am frankly amazed how well the car runs when ice cold in the morning, tiny bit of misfire off the bat and then the idle cleans up in about 2-3 seconds. if you glow it 3 times there is no misfire at all at startup.

-10 this morning and block heater on for 3 1/2 hrs. Fired up fine but 1/2 way to work it lost power and limped in the last 3 miles. BY the afternoon and +12* and everything bwas ok.
A little water dropping out of the B15 that is in the tank and freezing maybe and blocking fuel flow?
The Cummins was a bear again this morning but not like yesterday after PS 911 and a fresh D2 fill up. Tomorrow it will get a 4 hr block heater run before starting.
Ain't winter grand?

-7 F here yesterday. The sd started easily after 2hrs on the block heater. I was able to run on VO but it took a longtime to reach temperature. Even though I blended some fuel oil in(20-30%) I am sure it was the consistancy of cold butter to start.
Anyway just for the heck of it I didn't plug it in last night. It was -2F this morning. I just went out and it started no problem with a long glow cycle.

It's 11 degrees F here in Norfolk this morning.

The 83 300D started without using the block heater. Woo Hoo!

Glad I replaced the glow plugs a few months ago...

Yup, BTDT.

It's all your fault, Dad.

Just like President Bush, you control the weather.

Well, below zero here too. Car started fine last night when I drove my daughter to her friends house. Lost all vacuum. Checked the pump in this morning's light and discovered a 3/4" hole in the center of the cover plate! Looked around and found the raised/nipple center of the plate on the core support by the oil cooler lower line! I'm guessing a cold/weak metal combination...Whatever caused it, I'm not looking forward to replacing the cover today-- outside...!

-10F this morning.

Above zero now. I plugged in the car an hour ago. I would like it to warm up a little faster. I 'm taking a run out to where my parts washer is so I can wash some more parts to go on my SDL.

The driver side footwell flap doesn't open anymore. It didn't bother me much before, but now my feet are getting cold. I also noticed the other day the the blower motor is starting to go. It's squeaking and intermittent.
