cabin noise w124 wagon

How likely is it that the annoying squicks coming from the vicinity of the passanger footwell that I have been hearing for weeks are the result of squicky undercarriage? I was thinking it was a loose map pocket on the door panel but it was not it. Next I was trying to sequence it with potholes to see if it was the suspension but it is as if when the BODY of the car heaves than it squicks. Any suggestions?

Also, I think the squicking intensifies when it gets colder....

It's not the air sampler blower is it?

That never came to mind since the noise changes in pitch and intensity and is not constant. Also, it is related to the swaying of the frame. Definitely like to pices of plastic on plastic( that tells us a lot...).However, I will test your lead since I am just about ready to stop driving the thing it is so annoying!

No that's not it if it changes when driving. The sampler fan is louder when it is cold, but quiets down as the car warms up.

Is it possible something is in the heat duct that goes to the back seat passenger? My initial thought was passenger door, but you said you checked that already. That is where my squeak comes from.

I figured out my fix.......

My daily driver has got a rattle, a squeek, and some other assorted noises. I've been able to come up with 2 solutions thus far:

Have the wide awake 5 year old with me.
Add iPod connection to radio (with non working antenna) --- fixing the antenna is on the agenda.
