300td hydraulic fuel leak
I have a leak of the hydraulic fluid either at the high pressure side hose or at the pump itself,i cannnot determine wich one is leaking but it is in that area because i see it every day,i just changed the low presssure hose because it was saturated and old and i thought it was the problem, but now with anew low pressure return hose im still losing and spilling quite a bit of the fluid, the problemis that when i have someone rev up the car i get all this wind from the fan in the area that i cannot tell if its coming form the hose or the pump,i am quite bummed and any help would be apprecialoved.

Because I love your personology and unique wording (aprecialoved) so much, I am going to tell you that it is most likely your high pressure line on its last leg... if it had one.
Do a search for 'repairing sls hose' and find the thread by Kerry. All the details are there. However, it could be the pump. Its simply more efficient to inspect the line first. Mine failed in that exact spot - it receives the most stress. |

On all 3 wagons I've owned, or still own, I've had to replace the high pressure hydraulic hoses. First it was a small leak, almost an aggressive seep, then it turned into a full fledged geyser!!!
I've had one pump seal fail also, but you could see the fluid pouring from the bottom between the 2 halves. Take your hose to a hydraulic hose shop and they will use your end pieces and make you a new one. Much more a sure thing then the self hose replacement others have tried. Limited success apparently. All mine were around $62-64 bucks apiece to have done.....

I don't think anyone has had any problems replacing the hose themselves if they used the correct hose. Failures have been associated with hoses with inadequate pressure ratings I believe.
The thread mentioned above details the repair. It's easy and inexpensive.
