Beautiful, thanks for uploading. I have the 1983 brochures myself. Seems like MB had more fun documenting the 1984 model year than the 1983 one.

The 240D in North America ended in 1983 so there's no sign of the 240D in this brochure.

Notice the central theme they are pushing in the brochure. Not really "luxury", but performance engineering. They were designed to be a real driver's car. With only the bare necessities. That's the car I'd buy, if I had the money.

Oh, wait.

Thanks for sharing, Tyler. I recently discovered that I have that same brochure, only some of the pages of mine are stuck together. I found it at the bottom of the bag the car cover was in that the PO threw in with the deal. I hadn't gotten it out until this winter.

I also have a small brochure for my 85 that came with the car. I'll have to scan it and do the same. It is in perfect shape.

It's fun to have an original brochure for your car. I have the '82 brochure to go with my SD, and the '79 brochure, paint samples, euro delivery price list and upholstery color samples for my 240D (which was a euro delivery). I picked them up at the MBCA Seattle show and shine for a few bucks, they had a hole box of brochures.

It is interesting that the simplicity of the diesel engines was emphasized in the original literature. Simplicity isn't always something that you think of as something to "show off," though it is obvious to us now that this is what makes these cars so desirable and durable.

.42 Cd!! Wow. They made a big change with the 124.

This is great though. A sticky would be a good idea, maybe we can all upload whatever literature we have.

I have the dealer brocure for the 300 series from '89. No diesels in there, though

Good idea, I'll scan the 1983 model line up and some others.

Uh ...Tyler.....Did you get the complete line brochure or just the diesel portion. I'd love to see the Gasser side...especially the SEC's, since I own a 1984 Euro 500SEC...You could posty it in the Tech side since there isn't a gasser forum as such here.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry I know I promised to scan and upload the 1983 model year brochure but we've been moving stuff around and the scanner is offline for now.

We should provide a section for MB original literature on various models. Like I said I have the 1983 model brochure, as well as the 300D and 300TD brochures (w123).

I also happen to have the 1990 model line up, the 300TE brochure, and some other brochure related to the w124 in 1990 which I can't recall off the top of my head

I hope it's not going to become a copyright issue if we post them up...?
