I might be interested in the car. I'm in NJ, need to find out the cost of towing. What kind of mileage is on the vehicle? Are you the orig owner?

Do you have power windows and seats?

Ever been in an accident?

pawsoSD,

GEE WHIZZ, why don't they sell parts for SDs in the DC area for those prices???
(fwiw, i know of someone locally whose insurance company replaced a 300CD side window for @400.oo in a vandalism case. = EVERYTHING but HOT AIR is $$$$$$$$$$ in the DC area, but then we DO have the US congress nearby. HOT AIR is FREE.)

btw, the "going price" for LABOR around here (even at the gas stations) is about 100.oo an HOUR.

yours, tn46

to all,

as i suspected, the 300SD sold to the first person (a member of this forum) who looked at it.
while we have not exchanged $$$$$ for the title, we have "shook hands" on the deal.

Our dealer is at $105 an hour! I guess our junk yard is just a bit more reasonable on prices....thankfully! (or I'd be broke)

pawoSD,

fwiw, when i HAVE (i do MOST of my own maintaince & repairs at the Auto-Craft Shop on base.) to take a diesel to "Klaus" (our local independent MB expert - he is VERY GOOD & trained in BRD!!!), he charges me 140.oo an hour for his expertise/labor.

strangely enough, in his case, i think of that as a bargain rate. - Klaus is THAT good at what he does & QUICK to repair components that other "mechanics" just tear out & replace. = he repaired an "exotic problem" with the FI system on my brothers 300SD in about 4 hours, that NOBODY else could repair. it now works FLAWLESSLY.

yours, tn46
